Well, we're at 25 weeks today, so I know it was time to step it up! We are getting closer and closer to this baby joining the real world so I better put on my "mommy" pants and just do it! I started thinking about all sorts of advice we have received. "Don't buy the generic brands". "Don't buy too many of the same brand because if your child is allergic or sensitive to that brand then you're left with a ton of diapers you can't use." Ahhhhhhh!!! So much to take in! So, I just sucked it up, picked a brand and bought the damn diapers! I hope I get over this hesitant nature of mine very soon...I don't think Joey is going to give me much time to be hesitant, especially when he is hungry, crappy, wet, tired, etc!

I did it!
I bought our first pack of diapers!! Everyone has told me that we should start buying diapers everytime we go to the grocery store. I have tried doing this since I hit 13 weeks! However, everytime I would go to the baby section, I would stare at all of the diapers, break out into a nasty sweat, my heart would race faster, and I would start to hyperventilate! I would be so freaked out that I would push people, including small children, out of my way so that I could get out of there as quickly as possible! haha!

Muffins and Chub
Dear Baby God,
Why is the extra weight I am gaining going to my face? I understand why it goes to my belly...obvious reasons. I understand why it goes to my boobs...more obvious reasons. I even understand why it goes to my butt, thighs, feet, and arms. But why my face? I thought my belly, not my head, was supposed to look like I swallowed a basketball!! I am trying not to be too vain about this whole situation, but I have been in a lot of photos lately and am constantly reminded that my face now looks "swollen", a.k.a. fat! Please let me get through the next few months with a little bit more self confidence or how about little to no more pictures? ;)
Since I'm whining to you, I also would like to ask you if my muffin top is ever going to go away? I'm waiting for my ONE little cute solid baby belly to appear and all I've got is this baby belly with a little muffin top awning hanging over my belly button! Does Joey like muffins? Is this a prelude into what he may want to eat when he's a toddler? I think I would rather deal with muffins later on than now. So, if at all possible, can I just get the one solid round baby belly sometime soon? Before the end of this 6th month we're in?

We have officially hit 6 months!!
We went out to celebrate my 30th Birthday, so I thought this was the perfect time to get my 23 week belly shot since I actually took the time to look nice! ;) I have to say, my belly is definitely sticking out now. I still have the top little muffin roll, but I'm having a hard time hiding the big belly like I used to. However, a lot of people must just think I'm a chunker because when I tell them that I am pregnant, they are shocked and tell me I don't look it. I don't know how I feel when this comment is made...do I really look natural this chunky and belly bloated? Is it a compliment that I don't look pregnant? I'm really not sure, but instead of freaking out, I just say "thank you" and walk away.

And now, the closest thing you guys are going to get to my bare belly (until it is completely one big belly)! This white thing is my Bella Band. This thing helps hold up my maternity pants because they don't stay up to save my life! It is so annoying! However, this Bella Band (a giant tube top looking thing that is a little tight, but not restrictive) does a pretty good job of holding my pants up. Who needs a belt when you have a tube top?!
Michael took the above picture first. This photo makes me laugh because you really don't see any belly, you just see my boobs! I have the biggest boobs EVER!!! How funny is this? We talked about doing a celebrity themed party for my birthday. Everyone was going to have to dress up like a celebrity. First, I wanted to dress like a pregnant Britney Spears, then my friend suggested I dress like Dolly Parton since I'm rocking the boobs! Hahahaha! I think this photo just proves it!
Now, here is my belly once I moved my cardigan out of the way. The boobies don't looks so large now, right? Check out that belly!

Hiccup, Hiccup!

Joey is already becoming a "drinker"! He must be swallowing the heck out of some amniotic fluid because I have been feeling him hiccup this past week! It was pretty neat. It felt like "thump, thump, thump"! You should never rush your drinking because you will always end up with the hiccups! Joey, take it nice and slow and enjoy a good drink! :)

Cry Baby

So, good news is that the pissiness is gone...well, except for some rare occasions that really warrant the pissiness mood. Bad news, I now cry all the time! Luckily, Michael is gone a lot so he does not have to deal with my little crying spouts. However, I had a few episodes this weekend and Michael had to be around when they occurred. The crying comes over the silliest things...someone totally pulls out in front of me in the store parking lot, the heating guy is ignoring our phone calls, I screw up some damn bread recipe, and of course, I cry a lot over my weight.
For most of you that know me from the past, you know that I've always had issues with my weight. Finally, last year, I was able to lose 64 pounds and keep it off! I was so happy and finally at a good place weight-wise. I know I'm pregnant and supposed to gain weight (so please do not make that comment to me because I am well aware of this), but it is still a very hard thing to deal with. And for all of you that may have concerns now that I'm not eating, or working out too much, or purposefully not gaining weight since I'm writing this post, don't you worry...I have already gained 25 pounds since I got pregnant and I am only 22 weeks! They recommend you only gain 25 pounds for the ENTIRE pregnancy (which is 40 weeks!!!). So please keep your comments and opinions to yourself right now on this subject.
I know that I am a woman and women are more prone to being emotional. I'm just really hoping after I have the baby and all of my hormones are back in check, I will be normal again...emotionally! ;) If not for me, at least for Michael.

Forget Kung Fu Fighting, Joey is more like Rocky Balboa!
Joey is a kicking, punching, somersaulting fool in there! Michael laid his head on my belly the other night, and all of a sudden he jumped up with a huge ass smile on his face! Joey had just kicked him in the face! :) Who would have thought someone could be so happy about being kicked in the face?We had another doctor's appointment yesterday. We were at 21 weeks 6 days. The doc went over the ultrasound. Everything looked unremarkable and no visible abnormalities! Whoop whoop! Hell yeah, Joey, you stay unremarkable while you're inside of me! :) My uterus measured 23 cm!! I hadn't even hit 22 weeks yet! The doc said this was fine. We also got to hear Joey kick twice while we were listening to the heartbeat, which was 152 bpm.
The rest of the appointment went well. However, in addition to Folic Acid and Prenatal Vitamins, I have to take iron supplements and stool softeners! I am going to need one of those old lady pill boxes so I remember to take all my meds everyday! hahaha! For those of you who know me, you probably know that I have low iron. I have been very aware of this issue since I am a die hard blood donater. I usually was rejected from giving blood every other 56 days because of low iron. Yesterday, the doc brought up that my iron may start to go down and this is very common in pregnant ladies. So, I made sure to bring it to her attention, that I already had low iron before I got into this whole pregnancy business. She checked my numbers and sure enough, reacted! I now have to take iron pills to stop this common problem before it happens to me too. I have to take the stool softeners due to the iron pills! Good grief! Before my next appointment at the end of February, I have to take my glucose test to see if I have gestational diabetes. I really hope not. If I have it, I will have to go on a strict diet and exercise program. Boo to that! They will also check to see how my iron is doing at that time.
Also wanted to let you all know that I am ALLOWED to paint the baby's nursery...by myself!! I spoke with the doctor AGAIN about painting while pregnant and she said it was completely fine. Today's paint does not contain lead and/or mercury so I'm fine. I will take frequent breaks and have all of my windows open, as well as, a fan blowing. I am not in a rush to paint, so I plan on painting one wall a day.Okay, now onto what I know most you really want to see...my big fat growing belly. I do have to admit that it has gotten bigger. I actually woke up Thursday morning , very excited, because as I was stretched out on the bed, I did not have much of a gap between my fat rolls anymore! This literally happened overnight! However, when I stood up, there are still two fat rolls, but they will be gone soon! I would have never thought that I would be happy to have a huge belly? What has this pregnancy done to me?!?!?!

My belly at 21 weeks 6 days. Notice that I am wearing lovely maternity pants...aren't they attractive? No wonder so many famous pregnant peeps just pose nude! Haha! Not sure if you can tell, but there is still the little valley in between top and bottom bellys. I am very hopeful that this valley will be gone in the next week or so! :)
Now, let's compare to Week 20's photo! Definitely gotten a little bigger!
And Week 14's photo! Holy Crap, I have grown quite a belly on me! Glad I have taken these photos!

Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting!
Well, there is no doubt about it now, Joey is alive and KICKING! He is constantly moving around in there! I feel him moving around several times a day now. Michael has even felt him move a bunch of times! As much as I have complained about this whole pregnant thing, feeling Joey move has been pretty awesome. Definitely the best part so far!
So, as a woman, you know that they all say that you should be properly measured for the proper bra because it can really make a difference in the way your clothes fit, the way you walk, your posture, etc. I have already been properly measured since I've been pregnant, but these suckers just keep growing so I had to go get remeasured this past weekend! What a world of difference a proper, supportive bra makes?!?! My boobs are actually smaller than my stomach now...which normally would be mortifying, but when you're pregnant, it's want you want! I now am looking pregnant! Hallelujah! I saw my friend today and first off she told me I looked skinny! Woohooo!! Who knew such words would make me so happy?! She also told me that I actually looked pregnant today! Yes!!! I blame this on my new supportive bra, as well as, my properly fitting maternity pants that are the proper length for my long ass legs! :) Score!! I even am noticing that the gap between my two fat rolls is getting smaller and smaller...I'm thinking I may have one big belly so very soon! Whoop whoop!
