Bruiser

Joey had his first real nasty spill yesterday.  We were walking to the car from the hospital (ironically) and Joey was holding the stroller safety strap as I was pushing the empty stroller.  Next thing I know, the strap gets wrapped up in the stroller wheel and Joey went down!  I mean, his face ate the pavement and his legs came up over his head.  It was bad and very sad.  Luckily, Joey was a champ and only cried for a couple of minutes.  There was some blood coming from his nose, but that was from the scraps, not his actual nose.

This was last night.  You can see the bruise on his forehead, the scraps on his nose, and the slight road burn on his right cheek.

And these were the battle wounds a day later.  The road rash is pretty much gone, you really can't see the bruise, so his nose seems to be where the real damage occurred.  As you can tell in this photo, Joey has a pretty hard head and is doing just fine!  :)

Mischief

Now that Joey is mobile, he is into everything!  Usually, after Joey wakes up for the day, or from his naps, we have a little routine:  I change his diaper, sometimes he does naked time, and then he's off to explore for about an hour or so!   He has a usual route of destruction that he follows every time...

He first stops by the bathroom to check out the tub.  Is there any bath time action going on that I'm not in on?  All of my bath toys still there?  Where's the water?  Ooooh, look I can stand up!

Next is the diaper sprayer.  OMG!  Look at this ginromous tubing that I can pull on!
What?!?!  Toilet paper?!?!  How long has this been here??  I can pull and pull and pull and it keeps going!
Time for the dining room!  Yum, yum, yum!  I love gnawing on this wooden bench and staring out of the window!  When I'm done chewing and tasting, I'm going to bang on this like it's a drum!

While Mom is in the kitchen, I'm going to crawl back to the bathroom and get that toilet paper that she took from me!  Ha ha ha!!  I'm too good!

Dang!  Busted!  Quick!  I'll stuff it all in my mouth then there won't be any proof!

Oooh, dog water bowl!  Sweet!  A mini bath tub!  The dogs and cat just love when I play in their drinking water!

I've had a busy hour exploring!  I even got my first exploratory injury on my cheek!  I was trying to climb up the shelf in my room and I fell forward!  Ouch!  I'm okay, though, and the mark is already gone!  I know that this is one of many bruises and scrapes I'm going to get!  So, you better get used to it, Mama!
