So, to finish off Michael's leave, we hung around our home turf. We checked out the San Diego Zoo one day and had a blast! I would actually say it was one of the best days at a zoo EVER! We arrived at the zoo right at 9AM when they opened and that is the time to get there! All of the animals were being fed and were all very active! We got to hear a Singing Wolf sing, a jaguar roar and stalk, a sun bear and panda bear eat and move around, and so much more! We also got to feed a giraffe!! It was so freaking cool!
We are so glad that we got to spend some time together as a family!
Joey really likes this zoo because there is so much to look at! He really likes the monkeys...he even climbed up the fence in front of the monkeys like he was a monkey!!
This panda was just chilling in a tree munching on his bamboo!
Michael is really obsessed with ducks, which has now rubbed off on Joey! He loves ducks just as much as his daddy. I came out of the restroom to this sight...my two boys watching their obsession!
"But, Daddy, I don't understand why I can't feed the animals my apple!"
We were able to feed the giraffes for $5. It was so cool to see Joey's face when the giraffe stuck out his long black tongue and took her biscuit! He fed her the first biscuit, but then became shy, so I had to feed the rest of the biscuits to her. We got a family photo taken with the giraffes, but we didn't have the time to order one (the zoo took the pic). However, during the photo shoot, Michael and I were each given a biscuit to hold above our heads for the photo. Before we could even get our hands up, a giraffe had their head right down in between our heads, right next to Joey's head. It was so cool! If Joey asks for a pet giraffe in the future, I shouldn't be surprised!
Later in the weekend, Joey and Daddy did a little cooking!
Cooking and baking is really one of Joey's favorite games. Joey's future wife, you can thank me once again.
Of course, we had to do a little dancing to work off some of the calories we were about to devour!
Unfortunately, our time together came to an end. It was a really sad time and very heartbreaking to see and hear Joey cry "Dada, Dada!" as Michael walked away from us. Joey did try to pack some of his stuff so Daddy would take him with him (those are Joey's blue pants among Michael's camis). We love you Michael!

Thank you again for your sacrifices for all of us. We are so thankful for people like you and Michael!!
